Dance 362 Networking & Performance
MW 1-3 pm in DRK.
First meeting Wed Jan 20.
DANC 362, JT - Networking & Performance is a student driven explorations into the meaning and expression of "Networking" in our society, by conceiving of and executing performance events using networking technologies ranging from social networking (such as Facebook, IM, Twitter, live blogging) to live internet networked performance (via high-speed Internet2 connectivity) to developing interactive environments with wireless Local Area Networks (using Bluetooth and other LAN technologies). These performances will be incorporated into events at UIUC during the semester, such as the American College Dance Festival, and the class will collaborate with university students around the US and the world via the Internet for various special events. Open to students from all disciplines, but particularly hoping for students from Dance, Theater, Music, and Art + Design, and from Computer Sciences and Mechanical Engineering.
